Thought I would give digital painting a shot. Although I used mainly conte crayon and charcoal brushes so you could say it's technically not a digital painting. I found the original picture in
this great close up gallery. I then drew the lizard in my sketchbook and scanned it to begin the "painting". I realized to late that his chin is a bit to long and he looks more like a komodo dragon than a little gecko, oh well. From sketch to finished image took about 3/3.5 hours. I wanted to keep going but I stopped myself. Sometimes when I sketch, I try to make it just a little bit better and it looks overdone. Hope you enjoy.
